Marble’s got crystals under its belt.

Marble is a non foliated (crystal belted) metamorphic rock (transformation of an existing rock type) it has sedimentary rock factors, making it extensively used for sculpture, and also buildings. Marble is a stone that results from regional contact of sedimentary carbonate rocks. The word “marble” is used to refer to many other stones that are also capable of being highly polished.

There is also Artificial marble , which uses a wall painting technique that copies the color of the real marble pattern, it can also made into marble dust and added to cements to get a cultured marble.

Marble is mined in mountain regions from huge quarries. It is found in areas such as Canada, Italy, Germany, Spain and the USA.

Marble is commonly used for statues, buildings, tomb stones, fireplaces, mantles, floor tiles and work tops. Marble is soft and very easy to carve, unlike other stones; this is one of the more obvious reasons why it is so widely used in statues.

In the last 4 years marble has increased by popularity by 12%, making 1.3 billon tons, valued at $58.7 million dollars, the biggest sale of marble is tiled marble.
History wise marble has been used all over the world in different statues and buildings, many of the Greek temples are made purely out of marble, there are also many famous statues made from marble, for example, the west wind in 1876, the winged victory of Samothrace, Hellenistic sculpted in the 3rd century BC, and lastly there is the 1st BC sculpture.

Marble is widely used in homes nowadays, as its renowned for its natural beauty, marble is most commonly used in bathrooms, fireplaces and flooring. It’s not that suitable for work tops as it can get stained, although marble is very unique very low maintenance and hard wearing. Although compared to granite, marble is the more softer and porous stone, making it the suitable choice for bedrooms and other environments like that.

It can be produced in many radiant colours and fancy styles, forming from lightest of beiges right through to the darker more elegant tones, including the colours Pure white , Yellow ,pink, red, beige ,black, blue, brown, Green and grey. Although all these have their own groups Right from Salome, Norwegian Rose, Jade and even Verde Patricia.  With such a selection it’s rather a hard decision to make, when it comes to the choice of both colour and finish.

Marble is resilient, sophisticated and beautiful, it’s also really easy to clean, a bucket of warm water and leave to dry. Even in the warm summers the marble still feels cool to the touch , making it one the most coolest stones around, so whether you’re adding value to your property, or just simply making your chosen room look more glitzy and glamorized, a Marble Floor or Fireplace would be an important addition to your brand new room.
