So, they can look good but they also serve a purpose. The interior of a car has moved on since cars began. You can choose your colour scheme and the style so it makes sense to protect the parts you can. Can you imagine how much dirt you could bring into your car each day?

So, just like the mat at your front door, you have car mats in your car to collect mud, rain, snow etc. if you are rich enough to choose you’re in interior for your car then the mats will be a part of that. Most of us however buy car mats to go with car and interior we already have. So, do we look for style, appearance, durability, or price? All of these things seem to play a part when making a choice.

The plastic car mats that you can buy are good for rubbing the dry dirt from your shoes but wet shoes will leave puddles. You can also get aluminum car mats that will do the same job as the plastic mats but if you want to see your car carpet through the mat then you should go with a clear vinyl design. As above, they will collect dry dirt but not wet. They are usually thinner than most other mats but they do the same job just as well as any others. 

You can even have mats designed and tailor made for the car you drive and you will also find mats made to a standard to fit particular car models from any good car supplier type store. In truth, you can go all out and treat your car to a complete makeover or you can just get something to protect your car floor and all other reasons in-between. 

Over all, car mats of any kind are a good thing. Most are well made so thay shouldn’t ride up under your feet (f this happens, you should change your existing ones for some of a better quality) and they are so easy to clean. You cant take the carpet from your car but you can take the mats.
