VNA or Mobile Pallet racking, static racking or drive-in racks? Racks with rollers, racks with sliding trays? Do you need to consider if the racking is in line with requirements to meet the FEM code for Pallet racking or the codes of all European members states: SEMA, DIN and INSTA. Any product should also meet the ISO9001 Quality Assurance.
Here is a breakdown of some of the options open to you;
• Wide aisle racking – suitable for most forklift trucks
• Narrow aisle racking – The Optimum use of space with high density storage, while allowing full access to pallets with specialist forklift trucks
• Mobile Pallet Racking - Individually controlled powered mobile racks run on precision-laid steel rails. When a pallet is required, the appropriate aisle is opened up by operating the electrically-driven bases. This is an excellent option if you only have one aisle to access a number of racks, and space utilisation increases dramatically.
• Drive in Racking – This eliminates the need for loading and picking aisles. The lift truck positions pallets on front-to-back rails, allowing rows to be stacked next to each other. This option is an efficient equivalent of block stacking for loads which are too fragile or unstable to be stacked on top of each other.
• Roller conveyor racking – Gives you first in, first out stock rotation. Pallets are loaded at the upper end of sloping lanes, and move down under the force of gravity when a pallet is removed from the picking face. One block of roller conveyor racking requires only two gangways: a loading face and a picking face, which means fast cycle times and high occupancy rates within your warehouse.
• Pushback Racking – If you require pallets to be stored 3 or 4 deep this is an ideal design. Pallets are loaded into the system on telescopic trolleys, each trolley being pushed back into the rack by the incoming pallet. When removing a pallet from the front, the pallet behind is pushed forward, reducing truck travel distance and cycle times.
• Mobile Pallet Racking - individually controlled powered mobile racks run on precision-laid steel rails. Only one aisle is required to access a number of racks. When the appropriate aisle is opened up, this will enable access to your pallet thus dramatically increasing space utilisation
