| Fancy Dress As far back as the 18th century costume parties (as they were once called) were taking place. People would attend a get together in some sort of costume. We call this fancy dress these days and it is still as popular as ever before. I believe that fancy dress is popular because it allows us to escape into the past or maybe a fantasy world. Its uses are to include parties with a set theme like the 60’s or perhaps a film like stars wars for example. Then there are hen parties or stag nights, the bedroom, and many clubs that deal in the more exotic or fetish dress up. It’s not just the clothes that make an outfit complete. You also need to consider your hair and the jewelry you might need. You can obtain wigs to create the perfect look. Make up is also important when looking to create the illusion of a dress code that’s not the normal attire. Last but not least you must have the correct shoes. Very often these are styles of shoes that are dated in appearance. The whole point of fancy dress is to create a look that no one wears any more or would only wear to create an outrageous look. Fancy dress shoe were probably born a long time ago. There is no way of really knowing but you can travel back in time as far as cave man days with fancy dress. So, in terms of shoes or footwear in general, fancy dress shoes can come in all the styles we have seen on peoples feet since time began as with the clothes, makeup, and accessories. |
